What you need
- A Windows 10 or 11 PC (64-bit). On ARM PCs such as Snapdragon laptops: Windows 11. No administrator rights needed to install.
-
Claude Code or Codex, signed in with your own plan or API key:
- Claude Code: Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise, or an Anthropic API key.
- Codex: ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Edu or Enterprise, or an OpenAI API key.
Steps
- Download and install from soluterminal.com. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. The installer isn't code-signed yet; the download page shows its SHA-256 checksum if you want to check it.
- Sign in or skip. Sign in with your email to use your phone too, or choose Skip for now. Everything on your PC works without an account.
- Start an agent. Click Start Claude Code. For Codex: click Choose command, pick codex, then Create.
- Sign in to your agent. The first time, follow the steps in the pane. Usually a browser window opens; if it doesn't, open the link the pane shows.
- Ask it something, like "Explain what this project does."
Don't have Claude Code or Codex yet?
SoluTerminal's setup checklist can install Claude Code for you (Review install, then Run installer in new pane). Or install either yourself (no admin rights or Node needed), then open a new pane:

(openai/codex on GitHub).
Good to know
- Closing the window doesn't stop your agents. SoluTerminal keeps running in the tray; click its icon to come back. Even Quit (right-click the tray icon) leaves working agents running. To stop an agent, close its pane (Alt+W).
- Everything runs on your PC. Your code goes to Anthropic or OpenAI through your own login, as it always does.
